FAQ

Do Aeonica and Web of Secrets take place in the same universe?

Yep, they take place in the same universe, but on different planets.

What order should I read your books?

It depends. The Aeonica trilogy is a logical place to start; it was the first series I wrote, and it takes place first in the timeline. However, Web of Secrets has stronger progression elements (like Cradle) while Aeonica leans closer to traditional modern fantasy (like Mistborn). If you prefer progression fantasy, then you might want to start with Web of Secrets. You can always go back and read Aeonica later.

Note: Web of Secrets will technically spoil some plot points for Aeonica. But hey, the original Star Wars movies will spoil the plot twists in the prequels, but that doesn't necesssarily mean you should watch the prequels first.

When will the Web of Secrets series be available on Kindle / Audible?

Ideally, I'll start publishing these books sometime in 2024–2025.

Do you have a Discord sever?

Nope. I know this is a common trend for small authors, but I only have so many free hours in a day, and I try to spend those on the actual writing process. This is also why I'm not active on social media. But if you want to talk to me about my books, then you can try the comments sections on Patreon or Royal Road.

How much time do you spend writing?

I'll typically sit down at 7 AM every morning and write for a minimum of 1 hour. On weekdays, that might be all the writing I do, unless I manage to squeeze in an evening session. Then I'll aim for 2–3 hours total every Saturday and Sunday. That usually results in one complete chapter every week, and between 8-15k total words every month. It seems like a bit less than your average fiction author, but it's usually enough to finish a complete novel every year.

Do you use AI in your writing?

I've used MidJourney for marketing assets, and I've used ChatGPT for brainstorming names or general wordbuilding ideas. But all the writing is done by me, and all editing, proofreading, and cover design is handled by actual humans.

Who designs your book covers?

Damonza designed the covers for the Aeonica series.

Are your books appropriate for kids?

Depends on the kid, of course. But if you let your kids watch PG-13 movies, then my books are probably safe.

Did people really ask you all these questions?

About half of them are made up, just like every other FAQ page on the internet!
